How I Get My Way

I don't really have time for an official post, but I just love this picture and had to share it.  We took a break from packing and spent the day in Sonoma.  It was a beautiful day and it couldn't have been more fun.  Kate was a real trooper the whole time, but I did capture one of her more pouty moments.  I can tell this is the face that is going to get her daddy to say yes to just about anything she asks for!

Visitors and Goodbyes

Kate had a lot of visitors lately.  Uncle Rick was in town during a layover on his way to Hong Kong.
He promised to give her lots of loud squeaky toys as payback for the ones I gave his kids!

Laura and Bill Jordan drove all the way from LA for the weekend.  Their kids Carson and Summer were along for the ride and got to spend some time at our neighborhood park and playing in our apartment during a rainy SF morning.  Thanks for coming all this way to visit!

The next visitors to stop by were Andrew and Jennifer Bossen, longtime friends of mine from Austin. They were in town for Andrew's medical oral boards and stopped by for a glass of wine and to meet Kate. So great to see you guys and Kate can't wait to meet Drew and Bella Grace over Thanksgiving.

Kate was quite the hit when I took her up to Williams-Sonoma to visit some of my coworkers.  She seemed to recognize everyone since she spent so much time here before she was born!  She should be an expert at all things eCommerce.

Kate rounded out her busy social calendar with a play date with Ethan and KJ. Moms Mae and Christina work with me at Williams-Sonoma and on the summer internship program. Who knew we would all end up having babies within six weeks of each other!

This past weekend our awesome friends in San Francisco threw us a going away party.  It's hard to believe that our time in California is quickly coming to an end.  We moved exactly four years ago and have had the time of our lives.  It's a bittersweet goodbye.  San Francisco is amazing, but we are also excited about the next chapter in our lives in Austin.  Here are some pictures from the fun night.  Thanks to Beth and Josh Garver, Carolyn and Bruce Frey, Kris Konietzko, and Amy and Brian Crawford for hosting such a fun evening and to all our friends for coming to wish us well.  We are going to miss you guys but we promise to be back for visits!

Kate spent the evening with her first babysitter. Clearly she missed us as this was how we found her when we picked her up!

Now it's time to start packing.  The movers arrive next Wednesday and we fly to Austin the following day.  I'm not sure I'll have time for a post before we leave so bear with me while we pack up and head to Texas.  We'll be back soon but first I'll leave you with a picture I took tonight of our precious little angel who is just starting to smile.

Cocktail Parties, Halloween, and World Series Win!

Kate had a busy couple of days.  Saturday she hosted her first party in honor of the World's Largest Cocktail Party.  For those of you not familiar with this football event, it is the name for the annual Georgia vs. Florida game.  For you Texans, you can compare it to TX/OU.  Kate was excited for a chance to wear her custom made Georgia onesie (courtesy of Janet Brady designs) and have some yummy pulled pork that her daddy made.  Too bad the Bulldogs didn't fare so well, but it was an exciting game that went into overtime!

Here her buddy Kris coaxes a smile out of Kate while Carolyn looks on.
Kate kept busy on her play mat...
While her friend Zac introduced himself.
At least one of these teams won (more on that later!). Dad gets an insight into the future while holding 11 month old Zac while Kate gets a bit jealous.
Zac's Mom Alycia gives Kate a little snuggle.

Halloween snuck up on us and I made a last minute purchase for Kate's costume. While I got quite a deal, I think she'll still be able to fit in it next year. I swear the label says it's for a newborn. Thankfully Kate didn't seem to mind too much and was the most adorable bumble bee.

Guess she got a bee in her bonnet :-)

While trick or treating was pretty much out of the question, we did go over to Zac's house to meet another friend Owen and take some pictures and walk around the neighborhood.

Stephen and I tried to get in the spirit but didn't want to detract from Kate at all (really I just hate coming up with costumes and am glad to have a kiddo to dress instead of myself!).

Trick or Treating San Francisco style - going from shop to shop instead of door to door!

I must have missed the place that was handing out Babies as treats!

The next night the party kept going as the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. Kate woke up from her evening nap early just to watch the final innings.
