Birthday Fun Continues

We're back to finish out the birthday week.  After all that cake from the party, Kate decided some tea was in order.

Her hair is still crazy especially when it's blowing in the wind on the swings.

Grandma did a little swinging too!

The piggy face continues to make a regular appearance.  Here she is in mid-pig :-)

Lunch at Hula Hut before saying goodbye to Grandma and Papa.  Can't wait to see you again soon!

We pulled the party hats back out on the 21st.

This time we tried chocolate to see if that would get a stronger reaction.

Maybe it was the practice she had earlier but she seemed to dig in a little more this time.

If you didn't get enough birthday videos in the last blog here are two more.  The first was from earlier in the day at our weekly music class.

Getting to open a few more presents.

Tickle-fest with Daddy!

More interested in the bow on the chair which was her gift from Mom and Dad.

Stephen and I toasted ourselves for making it to a year.  Kate thought she might try a taste too - not so fast little one!

That wraps up the birthday celebrations. Up next...walking!

Happy Birthday to Kate!

At long last I am finally sitting down to post pictures from Kate's first birthday. The week-long celebration kicked off when Grandma and Papa arrived from Atlanta.

It wasn't long before Papa had taught Kate a new trick which earned him a new nickname:  Ah-Choo!

They brought an early birthday present on Saturday just in time for the football game.  Go Dawgs!

While Kate snoozed away the afternoon, the household was feverishly getting ready for the main event.

The cooler weather and the rain (can you believe it actually rained?) kept most of the kiddos indoors.  No one seemed to mind a bit and the kids had lots of fun while the everyone else kept an eye on the football game.

Soon-to-be parents Emily and Chad getting a taste of things to come.

Music class friends Campbell and Ellie.

Kate trying to decide which toy to play with next. Tough decision!

Cousin Skylar shows her how to mail some letters.

College friends Stacy and Emily compare baby bumps.  They are due a week apart!

FINALLY it was time for some cake!

But, not before a few pictures with the grandparents.

Ooh, this flame looks fun.  Too bad Mom blew it out JUST before I touched it!

Hmmm...not too sure what I think about this sugar stuff.

Really not too sure about it.

Thankfully there were some carrots and zucchini in the fridge.  Something I recognize!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

For your viewing pleasure, cake eating videos!

After cake it was on to the presents.  Kate gets shown the ropes on opening gifts from Trevor and Skylar.

As expected, she preferred the wrapping over anything else!

What's in here?

Kate's first baby doll.

As a nod to Kate's famous 'piggy face', Nana gave her an adorable stuffed pig.

Giving the pig some kisses.

Whew, I'm spent!  Thanks to everyone who was able to come.  Kate had a wonderful first birthday party.

Don't worry there's more birthday fun to come. Up next Kate's actual birthday and this time she gets some chocolate!
