Where does a month go?

Hopefully my blog followers will cut us some slack on the lack of posts these past weeks.  I can't believe Kate is now 5 weeks old.  Where does the time go?  I hope to make up for my delay with a post full of pictures and updates.  We have been having a blast with our little one.  She is truly a joy and such a happy baby.

The past weeks have been filled with visits from grandparents, walks up and down the hills of San Francisco, trips to Starbucks and Whole Foods, and doctor's visits.  It's been quite a month!

We'll start with the grandparent visits.  Mia came back for a week to help out as Stephen went back to work.  I can't thank her enough for all the cooking, grocery shopping and baby snuggling she did while she was here.  We couldn't have survived that week without her!

Next we had a visit from Stephen's parents - Grandma and Papa.

The weekend was filled with lots of outings including Kate's first air show. It was fleet week in San Francisco and we got to watch the Blue Angels perform. While we might have deafened our child, she did sleep through the whole thing!

We also had a visit from our crew of SF girlfriends.  Thanks to the girls for the lunch and treats!

So of course we think our baby is the cutest in the world. Here's proof :-)

Much to my surprise, I had a birthday! We celebrated with a fun dinner with dear friends Dave and Brynne Plant who were in town visiting. Kate went along for the ride and her gift to me was sleeping through the entire meal!

Kate had a few other visitors this month. Kris dropped by on a rainy Sunday to meet Kate and brought her some beautiful flowers.

Family friends Eddie and Geri Mineau were in town to celebrate their son Ray's birthday and stopped by to meet Kate. We waited a little long to pull out the camera and didn't catch Kate's best mood!  But it is a great shot of her hair.

Kate also had her first friend over for a visit. Baby Hadley was born only four days before Kate to proud parents Amy and Brian. What cute kids!

To quote my nephew Tanner "Your baby has a LOT of hair".  Yes, Kate is not lacking in that department and we get such a kick out her crazy 'do.  Here are some pictures highlighting one of her best features.

That brush isn't going to do much!

We'll wrap up this marathon blog (have I made up for the lack of posts?) with a photo shoot I did on October 21st to capture her at one month.  We plan to continue this tradition each month to track how she's growing and changing.

We'll leave you with one of her better looks :-)  I will try not to wait so long between posts since this one took me over an hour.  Thanks to Kate for napping in her swing or else this wouldn't be possible!  Now let's see if I can eat dinner before she wakes up.
