Kate's First Hike

Wow!  Two blog posts in one week!  I'm so proud of myself :-)  Must be because it's cold outside and we are hunkering down in the warm indoors.  The temperatures were much warmer when we took Kate on her first hike.  I guess it wasn't technically her first hike at least time I didn't have to carry her.   It was Daddy's turn!  We broke out our new hiking guide to Austin and headed to Bull Creek, just a short drive from the house.  With Kate facing forward in the bjorn for the first time we were ready to hit the trail.  Although she looks a little unsure!

The day was gorgeous and we snapped a few pics along the hike's namesake creek.  We'll have to come back in the summer when the water will be perfect for cooling off!

Kate was a bit embarrassed that she didn't have better head gear for the hike and we promise to have a cuter hat next time.

Pondering nature with Dad.

We didn't let a little thing like a creek crossing stop us from trudging on.

While Kate navigated the crossing like a pro, Mia proved that Kate didn't get her sense of balance from the Denton side of the family!

With a nod to Kate's G-Pa (my dad) we had to take a picture in front of the sign.

It was a great family outing and the first of many fun hikes with Kate.
